The whole school's buzzing -- it's time for Misumaru Middle School's annual Athletic Festival! When Kyoichi discovers that Muryou has volunteered to be the White Team's captain, he immediately volunteers to be captain of the Red Team. Now these two fierce rivals will battle it out on the field for victory!
Races, costumes, stunts and skits... There's so much excitement going on, it's almost enough to make Hajime and his friends forget about the recent alien incidents! That is, until the final festival event ends with a suspicious twist. It serves as a quiet reminder that there's more going on in Tenmo than meets the eye.
A lot more, in fact... While the students are enjoying themselves, the hidden danger around them is continuing to grow. Yamamoto, Isozaki and Jiltosh discover that several more alien scouts have managed to sneak onto the school grounds, and it soon becomes apparent that these spies are specifically looking for something...or someone. Everyone had better be ready, because when their reconnaissance is complete, a full invasion force will be headed for Tenmo's shores!

A desperate battle to save the earth that could cost all of their lives...
Danger is fast approaching and there's little time left before the next wave of invaders reach the Earth. In a desperate attempt to stop them, the Chosen have been forced into making a dangerous decision - they must attempt to use the secret technique of Astral Deviation to launch Nayuta's spirit and the Shingu into the cold depths of space. Once there, Nayuta will have to conquer the disorienting and terrifying emptiness and learn how to fight in it... and she'll have to do it before the enemy manages to reach her.
As they undertake this perilous mission, one thought looms large in all of the hearts and minds of those involved: there's a reason this secret technique was supposed to have been sealed away forever -- the last time it had to be used, many of the Chosen died...

The final confrontation draws near!
The press conference revealing the government's space diplomacy negotiations has caught the world by surprise, but no one could be more shocked than Hajime when he discovers that his father is the government spokesman! When the secret government base where Kazuo is working at is attacked by an alien invader, Hajime discovers that the father that he always believed to be just an ordinary businessman is more involved with aliens than he ever imagined.
But Hajime's not the only one who's been taken by surprise. The news of the negotiations and the attack upon the base has sent shockwaves through the Sanemori Clan. The once small fires of discontent within the Clan have flared into an all out quarrel. Jou and Baku are pushing Lady Momoe to appeal to the Galactic Federation for help, but she seems strangely unwilling to do so. With a new wave of invaders threatening their borders, they may not have much time left to reach a resolution before it's too late...
Meanwhile, advice from Setsuna during one of the recent battles has Harumi reconsidering her relationship with Kyoichi. Now, she must finally face him and tell him the truth behind what really happened 11 years ago...
