The Raalgon have well and truly had it with Tylor's battle skill (or was that just plain dumb luck?), and are now targeting his miserable ship directly! Admiral Donan, a capable (if not terribly original) commander has been given special orders that allow him to hunt down and destroy Tylor using a sizable portion of the Raalgon fleet. Even Yamamoto is forced to agree that the Soyokaze and its crew doesn't stand a chance at survival!
Contains: Episode 15: Shiny! Happy! (Deadly) Germs! The Raalgon have finally and truly had it with Captain Tylor making fools of them... and they are going to use Harumi to deliver him to them! Armed with an engineered virus, the entire Soyokaze crew has become infected. Only by handing over their commander will the crew be saved from a horrible death!
Episode 16: Strange Love Tylor, now captured by the Raalgon, can reasonably only look forward to his impending execution by firing squad. Of course, he's really only concerned about one thing: getting something to eat. The midnight snack is a universal language, of course, and Tylor's destiny will change while rumaging about for that last drumstick.
Episode 17: The Unjust Dessert Back at base, the entire crew of the Soyokaze has been quarantined... for their own good (or so they've been told). Tylor's case is lost (they're also told) since the Raalgon don't take prisoners, but the crew will have none of that. No one, they reason, has the right to kill Tylor but them!
Tylor, Irresponsible Captain OVA Collection 1: An Exceptional Episode (S)
The shooting war is over. The undefeated Soyokaze has returned home and all should be right in the universe. It's not ... the Raalgon Empire has created an incredibly powerful and destabilizing new weapon system. With the urging of the Prime Minister, they're about to deploy it and when the UPSF forces realize this the choice is clear. These are desperate times ...
The shape of the future will be determined by the actions of very unlikely allies. Their choices will be difficult and their situation may well be hopeless. Any hope for galactic peace rests on the most irresponsible man in history. Perhaps Tylor will stay awake for this.
This is the first in a set of made-for-videotape (OVA) releases made shortly after the "Irresponsible Captain Tylor" TV series concluded production, and is sometimes known by fans as "Tylor's War". They deal with events that occur about six months after the conclusion of the Raalgon war.

Tylor, Irresponsible Captain OVA Series DVD 2 (Hyb): Sidestory Collection
Many years ago, Azalyn's best friend in all the universe was a similar aged boy named Ruu. Also royalty of a sort, they shared the way that children do and both pledged that one day they would rule fairly. Both also agreed that one day they would meet again.
While on vacation years later, Azalyn encounters a mute and unresponsive Ruu along with a family retainer - he's been like this since Azalyn's father ordered the insurrection lead by Ruu's family to be crushed. Should he regain his memories, he will once again lead the charge and war may begin once more. Dom realizes this. The Ashran people realize this. The Raalgon court recognizes this. Azalyn, however...

Tylor, Irresponsible Captain OVA Series DVD 3 (Hyb): From Here to Eternity
Some time has elapsed since Tylor and the Soyokaze lead the UPSF forces to victory. The Raalgon war has cooled to a point where it can probably no longer considered to be one: in fact, many of the Soyokaze crew had been temporarily reassigned.
Even Azalyn had taken time away from her duties as Empress. Although generally placid, some areas of the galaxy are certainly not: the Raalgon cabinet is in turmoil (at Wang's urging) and some odd things are happening on the frontier. There are the reports of ships being destroyed (including Yamamoto's first command) under questionable circumstances. It also seems to some that the UPSF is being pushed towards full scale war with the Raalgon Empire, but why would this be... and who's doing the pushing? While there are people who don't believe what they're told, they're probably too few and too late.
Unlike last time, the UPSF is fully prepared to take the offensive and has the weapons to win. The Raalgon empire understands this perfectly and is preparing to defend itself. It seems certain that what ended last time in a brilliant compromise will end this time with billions of people dead.
If there's a solution to this it won't come from Tylor, but perhaps from someone who has learned Tylor's lesson. It's likely that no one can solve this before the carnage starts though, and even if they did that no one would listen. As the Tylor series comes to an end with this volume, things are looking very grim! Still, if there's anyone who can save the day ...

Tylor, a man so complacent that he'd give granite a run for its money, has through a unique set of circumstances been given command of a space cruiser in a time of war. With a crew that hates his guts, a command staff who hates his guts, and an enemy who hates his guts you'd think his time alive would suddenly become quite limited. You'd be wrong, too. This is an excellent series (a fan favorite for many years)... and I'm not just saying that because it's one of ours!
This is a 4 disc DVD set with the complete TV series (episodes 1-26).

Winding up with a command of his own, the Soyokaze ("Gentle Breeze") and its crew venture out in search of the enemy in defense of their homeland. The crew views this outsider with contempt, if not outright hostility. It looks like Tylor is about to join the long list of people who were driven out of the military or are dead. The planners hate him too: they'd be very happy if he simply failed to return from his patrol.
