Created over 50 years ago by the legendary Osamu Tezuka, the pioneer of Japanese animation, Astro Boy became the first Japanese show imported to the U.S. and one of the country's top-rated syndicated series.
Astro Boy tells the story of Astro, a youthful robot boy modeled after the deceased son of research scientist, Dr. Tenma. Originally intended to be kept a secret, the atomic-powered robot becomes a reluctant super-hero who fights for justice and peace for humans and robots alike!
This 5-disc DVD boxed set collects all 50 episodes of the newer (year 2003) Astro Boy animated television series.
